Main features

·       double-jointed mouthpiece for an even distribution of pressure on the tongue and bars

·       Sweet Iron promotes natural salivation and relaxation

·       loose rings offer greater mobility as well as clear and precise rein aids

Description
This bit rests gently, slightly curved on the tongue, improving relaxation throughout the session. Its design encourages supple jaw movement and helps create an elastic and refined connection between horse and rider.

Made of Sweet Iron, the bit naturally oxidizes with use, which stimulates salivation and encourages the horse to remain relaxed and available in the mouth. This contributes to a softer contact and a calmer and more confident attitude.

The double-jointed mouthpiece distributes pressure evenly over the tongue and bars, avoiding the nutcracker effect and providing a soft and stable feel. Horses that benefit from balanced pressure and a bit that follows the natural shape of the mouth often respond very well to this model. It is also an excellent option for horses with low palates, as the double joint reduces movement towards the palate, providing additional comfort.

With loose rings, the mouthpiece can move freely, promoting light chewing activity and helping the horse remain supple and attentive in the hand. This increased mobility supports precise rein aids and maintains a soft and responsive connection.

Ideal for

  • horses that appreciate a soft and mobile mouthpiece
  • horses with low palates sensitive to the nutcracker effect of simple bits
  • riders seeking precision and elasticity without tension

Care & Use
After each session, rinse the bit with warm water and then dry it with a soft cloth. Over time, the Sweet Iron will develop a slight patina — a natural oxidation process that improves taste and acceptance. Store it in a dry place and regularly check for wear to ensure it remains even.
Ensure the bit is correctly positioned: the star should be on the left and the Velari logo on the right.

Please note
Every horse and rider is unique. The information provided serves as a general guide — not a definitive answer. Always consider your horse's specific needs as well as your own experience when choosing the right bit. Always proceed gently.
