Overreach boot designed to protect the entire heel area. Technical sheepskin fabric on the top of the boot helps prevent irritation or chafing.
Save the Sheep, the new technical sheepskin line, is cruelty free. The lining is made of synthetic fabric, without any animal derivatives. Technical sheepskin offers many advantages:
• it washes easily and dries quickly, whereas real lambskin requires considerable and lengthy maintenance;
• trapped sand easily exits the wide, flexible and loose mesh, minimizing the risk of leg abrasion;
• it is more comfortable and softer than natural lambskin;
• it stays beautiful for longer, whereas real lambskin tends to dry out, become stiff and turn yellow.
Size guide
To choose the right size, it is necessary to measure the circumference of the front cannon bone. Take a tape measure and wrap it around the middle of the cannon bone without tightening too much to take the measurement.
Circumference of the anterior barrel
Small 17 cm - 20 cm (6.5 to 9 inches)
Medium 20cm - 23cm (9 to 10 inches)
ITEM MAY BE ON ORDER
Large Over 23 cm (over 10 inches)
If you are buying a hind leg protector, the measurement is normally taken on the front leg. It is very rare that between the front and hind legs there is such a difference that different sized boots are required.
Many people think that the protection should cover the entire deep flexor tendon up to the carpus (knee). Not only is the part of the tendon most exposed to trauma the lowest, but too high a protection would only hinder the tendon during flexion, especially when jumping.
